Now that you are part of the EONI family, you may be wondering how to get started using your new Internet access. Two of the most important privileges you now have are to ...

browse the World Wide Web (you probably know a little bit about that already if you are reading this!), and
send and receive electronic mail (email).

Otherwise, here are a few of the fundamentals to help you on your way.

E-Mail Setup

You can use either of two types of email with your EONI access account:

Email Software (often known as your "email client") - This is dedicated software that must be installed directly on your computer (either during the installation of your Operating System (e.g., Windows XP), or as a separate application later on). Most Windows systems automatically install Microsoft Outlook Express. Another very popular email client is Eudora, which must be downloaded from the Eudora Web site and installed separately. if you are using some other email software, you can follow along with either of these instructions, as the basic principles apply -- you can also call us at 800-785-7818 or 541-962-7873 if you are stuck!
Webmail - This is a form of email that you can use to get your mail wherever you are as long as you have access to a Web browser. You do not need any other email software. This is an ideal way to check and send email when you are traveling, or if you need to check a non-EONI email account that you might have. The drawback is that you cannot store and organize your email messages like you can with separate email software, and you do not have access to many other sophisticated and highly customizable features that most email software offers.
