Scripts for your Web Pages

These scripts are for optional use by Web authors on their Web pages hosted by EONI. To use these scripts, familiarity with HTML, ftp, and similar basic tools is assumed. EONI makes no guarantees or warranties with respect to the scripts, as they are third-party offerings, but believes them to be useful when properly implemented.

IMPORTANT NOTE 1: These scripts are intended as a "self-help" resource for your Web site. If you or your Web developer does not possess the requisite experience or familiarity, EONI does not provide free support to help your implement these scripts in your HTML code.

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: These scripts are intended for use with personal Web sites under the www.eoni.com domain, and they can be used "as is" if your Web site URL is in the form of "www.eoni.com/~yourusername". However, if you want to use them with your own domain name (as in "www.yourcompanyname.com"), you will need to contact us to request activation when your page using the scripts is ready to be deployed.

FormMail.pl (form-to-email handler)

Refer in your Web pages to this URL where the script is located:

Count.cgi (hit counter)

This script can be used to display the number of accesses to your web pages as well as display the current time and date.
The counter is set to not increment your counter each time you reload the page from the same IP address. This prevents you or anyone else from simply reloading your page successive times in order to raise the counter value. The counter remembers the last IP address that the counter was displayed for, so if you are a dial-up user you can disconnect and reconnect and your IP address usually would then change. With a different IP address your counter would then increment the next time you open the page with the counter in your browser.
Statistical information provided by this counter is not guaranteed. Keep in mind that "hit" counters such as this simply measure requests made of the server, and may not represent separate visitor sessions or page views.

Example of Usage
This script is located and called like this in your HTML source (type this all on ONE line without spaces or breaks):
```
     <img src="http://cgi.eoni.com/cgi-bin/Count.cgi?
			df=yournamehere.dat&dd=A">
```
yournamehere.dat is the filename that will store your current count. If the file does not exist it will be created automatically the first time you attempt to use the file. You should substitute yournamehere with your login name use use to connect to EONI. If you have multiple counters for multiple pages, simply append a number on the end of the additional counters data files on your individual pages such as yournamehere2.dat, yournamehere3.dat, yournamehere4.dat, etc. This will allow each of your pages to have its own page count file.
