SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) Help

IMPORTANT - WE RECOMMEND YOU USE SMTP AUTHENTICATION - PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP YOUR EMAIL

IF YOU USE EUDORA EMAIL SOFTWARE

Go to the Tools | Options menu item, click on Sending Mail, and make sure that the "Allow Authentication" box is checked (you should see something similar to this):


IF YOU USE OUTLOOK EXPRESS EMAIL SOFTWARE

Go to the Tools | Accounts menu item, click the Mail tab, highlight the mail account name and click Properties, click the Server tab and make sure that the "My Server Requires Authentication" box is checked (you should see something similar to this):


IF YOU USE EMAIL SOFTWARE OTHER THAN EUDORA OR OUTLOOK EXPRESS

Search your software's help system for terms such as "SMTP", "authentication", "server authentication", etc. If you cannot determine how to set your email for SMTP authentication, then you might wish to consult the software maker's Web site or contact its tech support.
